Tricia Young "The woman in the photograph is my maternal grandmother, Lucy Davis, with "Jack." Her mother, (my great-grandmother) Lucy Dougherty (1877-1956), was a rather eccentric character (for instance, she decided, after a trip to a local zoo, that her grandchildren should call her "Baboon" as she said "Grandma" made her feel too old). Apparently there were still organ grinders in Atlanta during her lifetime and she was concerned for the wellbeing of their monkeys. The main concern my mother remembers her having was that many of them were taught to pick pockets. I never heard any more specific reason for her to believe the monkeys were mistreated, and it It may well have been that she used this as justification to her husband when she began coming home from trips to town with monkeys along with her shopping. At any rate the monkeys -- she had several over the years -- seem to have had a wonderful time living in and around her farm house, which was located on the site where the Atlanta Hilton now stands." |

"Thank you again for making the earrings for me -- my own daughter, Baboon's great-great grand daughter, loves them also and no doubt Baboon will be remembered through your heirloom jewelry. Kind Regards, Tricia" |

“Is the Locket an Antique?” “That Brooch is so whimsical; can I have it?”

Anything to do with water-liquid or frozen swimming, water/snow skiing, arts and crafts shows. The outdoors camping, hiking, puttering in the dirt. Love to visit gardens, esp. Japanese.
Looking forward to my new earrings and necklace. The mermaid motif is “me”. I have a mermaid bathroom. My husband just shrugs it off. I’m a pisces (water sign), so he knows he has to go with the flow. Not a manly bathroom by any means, but it’s fun. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mermaid. I’ve been on swim teams since I was 7. All through grammer school, high school and college. In college I was on the Synchronized Swim team also. I love synchronized swimming. I’ll be in the pool all day tomorrow. I’m 57 and I can still do a “ballet leg” effortlessly. It’s my passion. I will wear my new Estrin creation often and I already know who I’ll will it to. This cancer will kill me in less than a year, but until that time, I live each day doing and being with things and people I care about. I love my life. Like the movie, It’s a wonderful life.
Wore my Aphrodite earrings to a wedding in California when I met another gal who had a different Dawn Estrin creation dangling from her ears. She was so impressed that was wearing Estrin’s earrings. Had a long conversation about the uniqueness of Dawn’s jewelry line. A good way to meet people is the start of a wonderful piece of jewelry.

I discovered Bijou Graphique at the Ann Arbor Art Fair in 2007. Each summer I look forward to selecting my annual purchase and can’t wait to see what’s new. Imagine my delight when I saw your latest creation…pet tags. My three pound Yorkshire Terrier, Lucy, will look so cute with one of your pieces jingling from her collar. I can’t wait!

“Those are the most romantic earrings I can remember. I love the deco quality.” (in ref. to The Breeze)
“Intricacy and delicacy combined… the frame complements the montage perfectly, and the dangling bead is the final touch.”
